Wye Hall, the family estate of William Paca, signer of the Declaration of Independence and former Governor of Maryland, dates back to the 1790’s. At the beginning of the design process GLA involved an archaeologist. With their findings GLA was able to take site-specific historic precedents into consideration during the design process. As a result, the 21st century landscape enriches its 18th century foundation. Landscape features have been added in a manner that respects the proportions and materials of the original design.
